New IFBB Pro!

Well, it’s been a week since competing and earning my pro card at NPC Team Universe. I still find myself smiling when I think about it, it just doesn’t seem real yet. I have been chasing this goal since before I competed in my first show in 2007.

This season as a whole has been a great experience (traveling aside, I have bad luck there). I have made several great friends at the shows this year, and we have been a great support system for each other. I look forward to competing with them all again soon.

Now, I start again as a pro from square one as a newbie. A whole new journey. I’m currently planning a pro show to compete in this year. I’m thinking maybe Tournament of Champions in LA, since it’s close to home and less than 8 weeks out. It’ll give me an opportunity to see how I fair against the pros, and then I can see what changes I need to make.

I’m super excited to actually compete on the pro stage after all these years. It’s kind of funny I actually feel less pressure. I don’t have any expectations at this point. I obviously want to come in my absolute best, but I don’t feel stressed about my placing, and I actually think I will enjoy the process much more. After all, competing is less about the day of the show as it is about the journey getting there. If you can’t enjoy it, then what’s the point. This is a lifestyle!
